Tarek and Fares were inseparable friends, until a disagreement broke out between them over a kite. Each of them wanted to hold it first, and as they pulled it between them, part of the kite tore.

Tarek got angry and told Fares, You're the reason it tore! Fares replied angrily, No, you're the one who pulled it too hard! They stormed off from each other, and each decided never to speak to the other again.

Days passed and the two boys didn't play together. Each felt lonely and sad, since they used to spend all their time together. Tarek sat alone at recess, while Fares watched him from a distance, feeling sadness in his heart.

One day, Fares brought some tape and fixed the torn kite. He walked over to Tarek and said, I'm sorry for what I said, I miss you, my friend. Tarek smiled and said, I'm sorry too, friendship matters more than any toy.

The two friends hugged each other, and flew the kite together again, learning that forgiveness brings back the joy that anger takes away.

The Lesson: Forgiveness brings joy back to the heart, and true friendship is worth more than any small quarrel.
