Allah sent Prophet Nuh, or Noah, (peace be upon him) to his people to invite them to worship Allah alone and to leave the idols that could neither help nor harm them.
Nuh (peace be upon him) kept calling his people for many, many years, day and night, with gentleness and great patience, but most of them stubbornly refused and made fun of him.
Allah revealed to Nuh (peace be upon him) to build a large ark. He began building it with the help of those who believed in him, while some people laughed at what he was doing.
When the ark was finished, Allah commanded Nuh to bring aboard the believers who were with him, along with a pair of every kind of animal.
Allah sent heavy rain, and water rose up from the earth, lifting the ark safely above the flood. The believers aboard were saved by Allah's permission alone.
After the flood calmed down, the ark came to rest, and a new chapter of life began on earth for those who were saved with Nuh (peace be upon him), by Allah's grace and mercy.
The Lesson: Patiently calling others to what is good, and trusting that Allah's help comes to those who rely on Him, no matter how long it takes.
