Allah commanded Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to leave his wife Hajar and their infant son Ismail (peace be upon him) in a valley with no water and no plants — the place that is Makkah today.

When the water ran out, Hajar hurried back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwah searching for water for her baby, calling on Allah and trusting that He would never abandon her or her son.

By Allah's grace, water sprang forth from beneath Ismail's feet — this is the blessed well of Zamzam, which people still drink from today.

Ismail (peace be upon him) grew into a righteous, obedient young man. His father Ibrahim (peace be upon him) saw a dream that he understood as a command from his Lord to obey.

When his father told him about the dream, Ismail (peace be upon him) agreed with a calm heart and complete trust in Allah. Allah, in His kindness and mercy, honored them both and eased their hearts with the best outcome.

Afterward, Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) worked together to build the Kaaba, praying that Allah would accept this good deed from them.

The Lesson: Sincere obedience to Allah and trust in Him bring goodness and ease, even when something first seems difficult.
