Mariam's family went camping in a beautiful forest full of dense trees and birdsong. Their father set up the tent while Mariam and her brother Omar explored the nearby area, having agreed with their parents to stay within sight of the tent.

While collecting colorful leaves for a school project, they heard a faint, weak barking sound. They followed it carefully through the trees until they found a small puppy alone, looking frightened and tired beside an old tree trunk.

Mariam said, "Poor thing, he must have lost his way from his owner." Omar suggested checking for a collar around its neck, and indeed they found a small collar with the name "Habib" on it, and perhaps a phone number hidden under some mud. They cleaned the collar with a leaf and found the number.

They gently carried the puppy and hurried back to the tent, where their parents were waiting with mild concern. Their father said he would call the number right away using his phone. A few minutes later, a man from a nearby campsite came running joyfully when he saw his dog safe.

The man thanked the children warmly and told them that "Habib" had run off during a morning walk chasing a wild rabbit. He hugged them and gave them a basket of fresh fruit in appreciation for their kind deed.

Omar and Mariam returned to their tent laughing happily, realizing that careful observation and calm thinking could solve a big problem, and that the best part of the trip wasn't collecting leaves, but helping a little friend find his way back to his owner.

The Lesson: Careful observation and calm thinking help us solve problems and assist those in need.
