Khalid had long dreamed of sailing with his grandfather on his wooden boat, "The Blue Pearl." Finally, during summer vacation, his grandfather allowed him to join a short fishing trip near the shore. Khalid wore his life vest as his grandfather taught him, and they set off with the first light of dawn.
Khalid enjoyed watching the calm waves and seagulls flying overhead, and eagerly helped his grandfather prepare the nets. His grandfather taught him how to read the color of the sky and the movement of the birds to know the weather, saying, "The sea is a generous friend, but it always deserves respect."
After two hours, Khalid noticed the clouds gathering quickly and the wind growing stronger. Remembering what his grandfather taught him, he said, "Grandpa, I think we should head back now." His grandfather agreed immediately, and they began pulling in the nets and steering the boat toward shore.
The waves grew a little rougher, so Khalid grabbed the spare oar to help his grandfather steady the boat, quietly reciting the prayers his mother had taught him. Khalid never lost his confidence; instead, he focused on carrying out his grandfather's instructions precisely.
After a few minutes of teamwork, the boat reached the calm shore safely, just before the rain began to fall. His grandfather smiled and patted his grandson's shoulder, saying, "You were a true sailor today, Khalid. You noticed the danger and helped me with courage."
Khalid returned home a little wet but very happy, proudly telling his family how he worked with his grandfather amid the wind, and how the sea had taught him a lesson in caution and teamwork he would never forget.
The Lesson: Paying attention to signs of danger and calmly, confidently cooperating with adults keeps us safe in the toughest circumstances.
