The class was assigned a group project about the solar system, so Sami, Layan, Wa’d, and Firas gathered to divide the work: Sami would research the planets, Layan would draw the model, Wa’d would write the report, and Firas would prepare the presentation.

The three worked hard all week, while Firas kept putting off his share day after day, telling himself, «I have plenty of time, I’ll start tomorrow». As the deadline approached, the friends met to put the project together, and found that Firas hadn’t started anything at all. They grew sad and deeply worried about the whole project’s grade.

Firas felt deeply ashamed of his laziness, and apologized to his friends, saying, «I’m sorry, I thought I had enough time and didn’t take my responsibility seriously». Instead of blaming him for long, Layan suggested, «Time is short, let’s help him finish it all together tonight», and everyone agreed, working together late into the evening.

The four friends submitted their project on time, and received wonderful praise from the teacher. Firas learned that day that his share in group work was no less important than anyone else’s, and that putting things off burdens everyone, not just himself. And his friends learned that forgiveness and helping one another build a stronger team than blame ever could.
