Salim promised his grandfather, Abu Ahmad, that he would help him on Saturday morning plant new lemon trees in the home garden. His grandfather was counting on Salim's help, since the work was too much for one person alone.

Salim thought for a moment and remembered how happy his grandfather had been when he promised to help, and how he was waiting for him in the garden right now. He told Moataz, I'm sorry, I promised my grandfather I'd help him today, I'll play with you tomorrow, God willing.

Salim went to the garden and worked with his grandfather all morning, digging, watering, and planting the young trees. He was tired, but happy that he had kept his promise. His grandfather smiled and told him, Whoever keeps their small promises earns people's trust in their big ones too.

In the evening, Salim played with his friends with a clear conscience and a happy heart, and felt that joy is greater when it comes after keeping a promise, not before it.
