Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon, peace be upon him) was the son of Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him), inheriting prophethood and wisdom from his father. Allah then blessed him with a magnificent kingdom unlike any given to anyone after him, taught him to understand the speech of birds and animals, and made the wind and the jinn subject to him by Allah's permission.

One beautiful story told about him is that he once passed with his great army near a valley of ants. He heard an ant calling out to the others to enter their homes so that Sulaiman and his soldiers would not crush them without noticing. Sulaiman smiled, thanking Allah for the gift of understanding this speech, and prayed that Allah would inspire him to remain grateful for his many blessings.

Another time, Sulaiman checked on his birds and could not find the hoopoe. The hoopoe then came to him with amazing news of a great kingdom in the land of Sheba, ruled by a wise queen named Bilqis, whose people worshipped the sun instead of Allah.

Sulaiman sent a letter to Bilqis, gently and wisely inviting her to worship Allah alone. Bilqis consulted with the leaders of her people, then decided to visit Sulaiman herself to see his kingdom and wisdom up close before making her decision.

When Bilqis arrived, she witnessed such wonders in Sulaiman's kingdom and wisdom that she realized this kingdom was truly from Allah and not the work of ordinary people. She willingly believed in Allah, Lord of all the worlds, alongside Sulaiman, without any compulsion.

The story of Prophet Sulaiman teaches children that great blessings, like kingship and knowledge, should be used for good and for calling others to the truth with gentleness and wisdom, never with arrogance or pride.

The Lesson: Great blessings are a trust, and they should be used with wisdom and humility to serve goodness and truth.
