Write capital English letters (A, B, C...) on cards, and the matching lowercase letters (a, b, c...) on cards of a different color. Start with just 5-6 pairs to avoid overwhelming your child.

Lay the capital letter cards neatly in front of your child, scatter the lowercase cards, then ask them to find the lowercase letter that matches each capital and place it alongside.

You can turn it into a competitive game with more than one child, or time it to track speed improvement over time. This activity prepares your child to recognize the different shapes English letters take, a useful step before formally starting to learn English.
