On a small hill by the sea stood a tall white lighthouse, home to an old keeper named Sheikh Nasser. Every evening, he climbed the spiral stairs to light the great lamp at the top.

Afterward, he sat in his old rocking chair by the window, watching the light turn slowly, casting its beam over the dark water. He would whisper to the distant ships, “Sail safely, I can see the way for you.”

As time passed, the gentle rocking of the chair blended with the soft sound of the waves, and Sheikh Nasser's eyelids grew heavier and heavier. He loved this feeling, as if the sea itself were rocking him to sleep.

Before drifting off completely, he would make sure the light was still turning steadily, then close his eyes in perfect ease, knowing his light would keep watch over the sailors all night until dawn.
