The little kitten Momo did not like sleeping in her basket, preferring to play with her ball of yarn late into the night. Every time her mother placed her inside, she would leap right back out.

One night, her mother said patiently, “Come, Momo, smell the basket carefully.” Momo approached with curiosity and caught a familiar, warm scent — exactly her mother's own scent, since her mother had slept there every day before Momo grew up.

Momo slowly curled up inside the basket, tucking her small body into a ball. She felt as if her mother were hugging her through the soft fabric's scent, and her excited little heart began to settle.

Momo's eyes grew heavier and heavier, her soft purring filling the room. That night she slept deeply for the first time in her basket, dreaming of balls of yarn as soft as clouds.
