On a bright summer morning, Yusuf and his younger sister Lama went with their father on a trip to the palm oasis near their village. The oasis was a magical place, full of tall palm trees and a clear pool of water reflecting the golden sunlight.
While their father filled the water skins, Yusuf and Lama slipped away to explore among the palms, promising not to wander too far. Suddenly they heard a faint bleating sound, like a frightened little animal. They followed the sound carefully until they found a small goat stuck between two rocks, trembling with fear and thirst.
Lama said worriedly, "We have to help it, Yusuf, but how will we find its owner?" Yusuf thought for a moment and said, "There must be a flock grazing nearby. Let's look for footprints in the sand." The two siblings carefully followed small tracks in the sand, gently carrying the goat between them.
They walked a short distance until they heard a sheep's bell ringing in the distance. They hurried toward the sound and found an old shepherd anxiously searching for his missing kid. His eyes lit up with joy when he saw the goat safe in the children's arms.
The shepherd thanked them warmly and prayed for their wellbeing, telling them the goat had run off that morning after being startled by a large bird flying overhead. Yusuf and Lama returned to their father, proudly recounting their adventure, and he smiled and said, "You showed real courage and cleverness today."
The family returned to the village at sunset, and Yusuf and Lama felt overjoyed — not because they had found something exciting, but because they had helped a small creature return safely to its family.
The Lesson: Helping the weak and cooperating with siblings brings the best results, and true courage sometimes means lending a hand to those who need it.
