There once was a dove called the Ringed Dove, who led a flock of birds that loved and trusted her. One day, the flock spotted grain scattered on the ground and grew excited, eager to swoop down and eat.
The Ringed Dove warned them, 'Be careful — this could be a trap set by a hunter.' But the birds were so hungry they could not wait, and they flew down quickly to eat. In an instant, they were all caught in the hunter's hidden net, struggling helplessly to break free.
The birds panicked, but the Ringed Dove called out calmly, 'Do not be afraid! If we all flap our wings together at the very same moment, we can lift this whole net and fly away with it.'
She counted, 'One, two, three!' and every bird flapped its wings at once. The net rose off the ground, and the birds flew together over the trees, far from the furious hunter below.
They landed near the burrow of an old friend of the dove's — a wise mouse who lived nearby. He hurried over and began gnawing through the net's threads with his teeth. He wanted to free the leader, the Ringed Dove, first out of respect, but she asked him to free her friends before her.
Thanks to their teamwork and their loyal friend, every bird was freed, and they returned home together, happy and safe — having learned that working together can overcome even the hardest troubles.
The Lesson: Cooperation and unity can save us from the greatest dangers, and a loyal friend is a true treasure.
