Wathab the rabbit planted carrot seeds in his little garden, and the next morning he rushed excitedly to look, finding nothing but soil. He grew angry and said, «Why haven’t they sprouted yet? I’ve waited a whole day!».

He returned the next day to find the same thing, so he decided to dig into the soil with his own paws to make sure the seeds were there, ruining a few of them in his impatience. Days passed with him visiting the garden almost every hour, comparing the plant’s size to the day before, sighing each time in frustration.

The neighboring tortoise noticed his lack of patience and said calmly, «Wathab, I’ve walked slowly my whole life, but I always arrive because I never rush the path. Let your seeds drink the water and sunshine in their own time, and they will reward you when the moment comes». Wathab liked the idea, and decided to visit his garden only once every two days, keeping himself busy playing with friends in between.

Two weeks later, Wathab found his garden full of strong green carrot leaves, and when harvest time came, they were the biggest carrots he had ever seen. Wathab learned that day that patience is not empty waiting, but trust that beautiful things ripen in their own good time.
