Every year, a great kite festival is held on the coast, with the village children flying their colorful kites. This year, Yasser decided to build his own kite with his father's help instead of buying a ready-made one.
Yasser and his father spent several evenings cutting blue and yellow fabric and carefully tying the wooden frame together. “A kite we build with our own hands flies with greater joy, Yasser,” his father said. Yasser smiled as he drew a small smiling face on its tail.
On festival day, Yasser launched his kite along with the other children, and it rose slowly into the clear blue sky. It wasn't the fastest in the race, but it was the most beautiful in color, admired by everyone.
Yasser didn't win the race, but he felt tremendous pride watching his kite soar high beside his friends'. “Winning wasn't the most important thing,” he said, hugging his father. “We made something beautiful together.” His father agreed with a warm smile.
