God sent two messengers to a certain town to call its people toward worshipping Him alone, but the people denied them. God strengthened the pair with a third messenger, and all three continued calling the town gently and patiently — yet the people remained defiant and even threatened to stone the messengers if they did not stop.
While the town persisted in denial, a man came hurrying from the far edge of the city — known among his people for his goodness and honest work. He spoke to his people plainly, fearing no one: «My people, follow the messengers. Follow those who ask no reward of you, and who are rightly guided.» He reminded them of God's blessings upon them and asked, «Why should I not worship the One who created me, to whom you will all be returned?»
His people were enraged by his words and killed him, but he entered Paradise immediately for his sincere faith. Seeing his honored place, he said, «If only my people knew how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored.» His story remains in the Quran as a timeless example that the truth deserves to be spoken even at great cost, and that a single honest word can be remembered forever.
