Pets are very close to a child’s heart, especially if there’s one at home or at a relative’s house. Print drawings of a cat, a dog, a long-eared rabbit, and a small pet bird in a cage.
- If your child has a pet, ask them to color its drawing in its real colors.
- Ask: how do we take care of this animal? What does it eat? Where does it sleep?
- Discuss the importance of kindness and gentleness with animals.
- After coloring, ask them to pick a name for each animal in the drawings.
This activity builds a sense of responsibility and kindness toward animals, giving your child a chance to express their feelings about their own pet, or animals in general.
