<p>Transportation is a favorite topic for young children because it's full of motion and fun sounds. In this activity, your child colors drawings of a car, plane, boat, train, and bicycle, while learning where each one is used: does it move on land, fly in the sky, or float on water?</p><p>You can turn the activity into a simple sorting game afterward by grouping the drawings by where they move.</p><ul><li>Print line drawings of five different vehicles.</li><li>Before coloring, ask your child what color they'd like each vehicle to be.</li><li>While coloring, imitate the sounds together (a train whistle, a plane's roar).</li><li>After coloring, sort the pictures into: moves, flies, floats.</li><li>Finish by pasting the drawings into a special transportation notebook.</li></ul>
