Write the numbers 1 to 10 on small separate paper cards (or use number blocks if you have them), then scatter them randomly in front of your child on the floor or table.
Ask your child to pick up the cards and arrange them themselves from smallest to largest, starting at 1 and ending at 10, encouraging them to say each number aloud as they place it correctly.
To make it easier for younger children, start with ordering only 1 to 5, then gradually increase the range. This exercise builds a visual sense of numerical sequence, an important foundation before learning addition and subtraction later.
