This activity engages two senses: sight through coloring and hearing through listening. Print drawings of a drum, an oud, a violin, and a small piano, and play a short clip of each instrument’s sound while your child colors its picture, if possible.
- Play the instrument’s sound (online or a recording) before they start coloring it.
- Ask them: is this sound calm or loud? How does it make them feel?
- Encourage clapping or dancing along to the rhythm while coloring.
- When finished, ask which instrument’s sound they liked best.
