Some Arabic letters are very similar in basic shape and differ only in the number or placement of dots, like ب/ت/ث or د/ذ or ر/ز, which can confuse children early in learning to read. Write a set of these look-alike letters on large, clear cards.
- Present one pair of similar letters at a time (like ب and ت).
- Ask your child to spot the difference: where is the dot, or dots?
- Have them trace each letter with a finger while saying its name and sound.
- Play a quick game: name a letter and have them point to it fast between the two.
This activity trains your child’s eye to notice fine details, a necessary skill to avoid the common mix-up between look-alike letters during reading and writing later on.
