It is said that a Muslim king who once ruled Granada in old Andalusia had three beautiful daughters, and fearing for them in the outside world, he kept them locked in a tall tower inside the famous Alhambra palace, rarely allowed to leave. An old, wise governess stayed with them, entertaining them with stories and teaching them all the knowledge and manners of the world.

One day, the three princesses spotted from their tower window a procession of horsemen passing near the palace, and each of them quickly fell for one of the captive knights being brought to the fortress. The old governess, wishing to help their hearts find happiness, secretly devised an escape plan using a long silk rope the sisters wove themselves at night, unnoticed by anyone.

When the moment finally came, two of the princesses lost their courage at the last second, fearful of the unknown, while the third bravely climbed down the rope alone to join the one she loved and build a new life of her own choosing. This Andalusian legend is still told around the ancient towers of the Alhambra, a lasting symbol for anyone who faces their fear to choose their own path in life.
