In a great forest lived a busy squirrel named Funduq. All summer long, he gathered walnuts and hazelnuts, carefully storing them away for the cold winter ahead.

Funduq worked hard every day, while some other animals played and had fun without thinking of tomorrow. When winter came, snow covered the forest, and food became very scarce.

On a cold day, Funduq heard the voices of his young friends, a sparrow and a rabbit, searching for food with no luck, sadness clear on their little faces.

Funduq thought for a moment, then opened his large store of nuts and invited his friends inside. 'I have enough for everyone,' he said. 'Let's share this food together.'

The sparrow and the rabbit were overjoyed, and they all ate a warm meal together. Funduq felt happier than he ever had while gathering nuts alone all summer.

From that winter on, Funduq and his friends learned that sharing what we have with others warms the heart far more than any storeroom, however full.

The Lesson: Sharing what we have with others brings greater joy than keeping it all to ourselves.
