Few topics excite children this age quite like dinosaurs. Print drawings of a few different kinds: a long-necked dinosaur (like a Brachiosaurus), a smaller predator, and an armored dinosaur with plates on its back.
- Say each dinosaur’s name clearly and ask your child to repeat it.
- Ask them: do you think this one eats plants or meat?
- Let them pick imaginative colors — nobody actually knows dinosaurs’ real colors!
- Add a volcano or giant plants to the background of one drawing to enrich the scene.
This activity feeds your child’s curiosity about the ancient world and builds their imagination and language, since they’ll likely ask lots of questions while coloring — a great sign worth encouraging.
