Choose a medium, soft ball —a foam ball or a lightly inflated beach ball— and sit or stand about a meter from your child. Gently toss the ball toward their hands and encourage them to reach out and catch it.

Start with a short distance and slow throws, then gradually increase the distance as their timing and catching improve. You can add variety by saying a cue word —like “Ready?”— before each throw to build attention and timing.

This exercise strengthens hand-eye coordination, sharpens reflexes, and helps prepare your child to join team and sports games with more confidence later on.
